To The Fathers, The Stoic & Compassionate Figures In Our Lives.
A father’s love is invaluable.
What makes Father’s Day special isn’t the socks, ties, and tools; it’s about honouring them as a teacher, a role model, a disciplinarian, and a lover of his children, as well as their mother. The Bible highlights these roles of fatherhood because being a father is a blessing from the Lord, and the children are a reward from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5).
A father embodies the Lord’s qualities—he disciplines, shows kindness, offers comfort, fosters encouragement, and practices forgiveness. He understands that the righteous example he sets will benefit his children, drawing them closer to the Lord (Proverbs 20:7). The values he instills can shape their lives for years to come.
On Father’s Day, we should celebrate the men who have protected, taught, provided for us, and instilled discipline in our lives. We express our gratitude to fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers whose lives have influenced ours and helped shape future generations.
We pray for fathers everywhere, asking God to bless them with strength, foresight, patience, and the necessary tools to provide for their families. May our prayers empower them and remind us to honour them not just on Father’s Day but every day. Let’s lift them in our prayers as they continue to care for us.
In the words of Billy Graham, “A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.”
